The Author

Gideon Akanbi is the Founding President and International Director of The Godly Brains, a ministry headquartered in Ibadan, Nigeria, with a vision of helping young people discover their Purpose, develop their Leadership potentials and be driven by biblical Integrity. He oversees the activities of the Godly Brains Int’l Christian Centre, a dynamic Christian platform with a global vision of transforming followers into leaders and leaders into agents of change where he runs weekly worship and teaching services. He also serves as the head chaplain of Bowen University, Africa’s premier and largest university based in Iwo, Nigeria.

He is a gifted and charismatic teacher of the word of God, a conference speaker, both within and outside of his country, and carries a deep passion for the emerging generation. He is an alumnus of the University of Ilorin (B.Sc), OlabisiOnabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye (M.A), the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso (M.Div), Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary, Abeokuta (PhD) and the Stephen Olford Centre for Biblical Preaching, Memphis,TN, USA.

His other books include: From Slavery to Sonship; Trailblazers and Purpose, Preparation and Pursuit; Success Dynamics for Youth, Reading for Personal and Global Transformation; Youth and Emerging Sexual Crisis; and Kingdom Questions with Realistic Answers. He resides in Ibadan, South West of Nigeria together with his lovely wife, Engr. OlubisiAkanbi, and their lovely children, Esther, Charis and Victor.

You were born with and for a purpose! The author observes that the concept of purpose is very crucial for your life and until you discover and walk in the path of divine destiny, life does not make any sense. He even stretches this further that until you understand your path of destiny, you will not appreciate the workings and enabling grace of the Holy Spirit in your life. Under such a condition, effective living is not in view.It is, therefore, important to understand why you are here on earth and that God releases his gift (both natural and spiritual) into your life for a purpose.

The author further maintains that God’s desire is that we become engaged in doing what we’re good at, so we could reflect His design. He wants us to find it easy and natural to apply our whole heart to what we do. That is what the thesis in the 7 Pillars of Purpose defends and that is why the first Pillar for excellent living is the discovery of your PURPOSE. Other six pillars outlined are virtues you must develop and embrace if your dream is to finish strong in the area of your God given assignment. Knowing your purpose is the first rung of the ladder, other pillars must firmly be in place if you want to end well. When you neglect them, or you are ignorant of them, then struggles will be a common experience in the journey of life.
