ARE YOU DECLARING THE GLORY OF GOD?
ARE YOU DECLARING THE GLORY OF GOD?
“Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people” (Psalm 96:3)
God created everything with GLORY, including you. The Bible says: “There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star different from another star in glory” (1 Cor. 15:40-41).
In other words, the glory of the sun is in releasing its light into the universe; the glory of a bird is in flying; and the glory of a fish is in swimming in the ocean.
What about you as a human being? Your glory is in discovering your purpose, potential and place in God’s global agenda and fulfilling it. When you live in this way, you express and declare God’s glory wherever you go. When you live otherwise, you underutilize your abilities and frustrate the grace of God in your life. The world also will not feel your impact.
You can’t express God’s full glory when you live less of what He has invested in your life. His full expression will not come to fore when you are not where he had designed you to be or do what he had configured you to do. Imagine someone who is destined to be a Lecturer but found himself in the hospital as a medical doctor. He is meant to declare the glory of God in the classroom but here he is struggling with patients in the hospital wards. He would at best be square peg in a round hole. In other words, he has trapped God’s glory in his life from shining.
Jesus gave us an example to follow. Here is what he said: “I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gave me to do” (John 17:4). In other words, by focusing on his assignment, he was able to declare God’s glory here on earth. No wonder he was going about everywhere doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil because God was with him (Acts 10:35).
Have you considered Paul too? He was a zealous young lawyer, expending his potential on a wrong course. But by God’s mercy, he found his bearing. Here is what he said: “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood” (Gal. 1:15,16).
Paul lived so well that his impact was felt greatly in his time. He planted so many churches. He wrote over 50% of the New Testament books. Paul is still speaking today in many churches. He indeed declared God’s glory among the nations. He finished his race and kept the faith (2 Tim. 4:5-7)
Have you discovered what you are here on earth for? Are you expressing God’s glory through your life? Are you making any impact in the world? You must be deliberate about these issues. Time is counting. Your life must not be a waste. You must leave your footprints on the sound of time.
I pray God open your eyes of understanding today.
Enjoy your abundant life in Christ to the fullest!
