“it is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63)

The Bible is not just a story book; rather, it contains the story of God’s redemptive activities among men. The Bible is not just a piece of literature; rather, it’s the thoughts of God for humanity captured in written form. So, when you approach the Bible, you must be conscious that you’re robbing your mind with the breathe of God in print.

Have you discovered the excellence of God’s word? Let me help you see the excellent power God’s word contains by making reference to few Scriptures.

” This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” (Joshua 1:8). From this scripture, it implies that God’s word is God’s law which expresses his principles. You need God’s principles to live successfully and prosperously in this world. The truth is principles are enduring in nature; once understood and applied, it delivers accordingly. So it takes meditation to get the gems in God’s word.

” But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). From this text, it means God’s word is designed for living, not just for reading. “Every word” that comes out of God’s mouth is valuable because holy men of God that penned down the Scriptures were moved by the Holy Spirit.

” All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Tim.3:16).
This means all Scriptures carry God’s inspiration; the life of God is in every Bible verse. God’s word is the complete manual for preparing your life for effective living. Competence and completeness is found only as you depend on and depeen your life in the word.

Finally, ” The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple” (Psalm 19:7).
This text shows that divine direction can be secured when careful attention is given to God’s word. God’s word should be greatly desired than gold.
