Starting a GB Club
How to Start a GB Club
The ultimate goal of the Godly Brains Ministry is to have the GB Club in every higher institution of learning in Nigeria and abroad. The following requirements must be met before a GB Club on a campus is officially recognized by the leadership of the Godly Brains:
- There must be a minimum of 5 students showing interest to have the club in a particular school.
- The interest will be expressed either formally or informally to the Country Director through the State Director in charge of the state where such institution belong or directly to the international Director where the two are not available.
- A leader will be named among the interested group of students.
- They will start reading the book for the current month along with other GB Club groups.
- The State Director will arrange with the Zonal Director to be represented in their first monthly interactive meeting and they must hold minimum of 4 of such meeting in a session.
- The Campus Coordinator, through the assistance of the state coordinator, shall seek to register the club with the school authority within the first session of establishment.
- The Campus Coordinator shall seek to organize, in collaboration with the GB leadership, READING FOR A CHANGE CONFERENCE within the first session of establishment.
The club shall be run with strict compliance with the guiding principles with respect to GB Club as stated above.
The Godly Brains shall run outreach programs to secondary schools to perpetuate the three core values of our mandate, with the ultimate goal of raising intellectual giants at that level of educational system. The climax of our operation at the secondary school level shall be the establishment of GB Club in any school reached. They shall be called JUNIOR GBCLUB (JGB Club). The operation of the club shall be in conjunction with the school authority. The following therefore shall be the procedure of establishing JGB Club:
- The Godly Brains shall seek for an invitation from the school to present Purpose Discovery Seminar through the State Director (or any other contact person representing The Godly Brains) where the school is situated.
- The presentation shall be based on READING FOR A CHANGE (Ben Carson Story) material already prepared from the national headquarters office.
- Interested students (not less than 10) shall be grouped together after the seminar to form the club and a leader shall be named, after due permission from the school authority.
- The National Office of The Godly Brains shall bear the responsibility of providing the first set of books to be read. Thereafter, individual students shall be responsible to buy subsequent copies.
- Each member of the club shall be expected to read at least three (3) books in a term of academic session translating to Nine (9) in one academic session.
The state coordinator shall see to the monitoring of the reading progress of the club members during vacation period.
In order to further entrench our core values of Purpose, Leadership and Biblical Integrity in all spheres of life, we are adding another section to our pilot reader’s club, the Godly Brains Club. This new section is called The Godly Brains Club GOLD. The GB Club GOLD will be serving Graduates, Corporate Individuals, Business Executives, and Entrepreneurs.
Since 2008, the Godly Brains Ministry has essentially focused on young people in tertiary institutions. Conducting Reading and Leading for a Change Conferences in several of the institutions, we have been able to give out books and as well recommend books to members of this club on a monthly basis, this has culminated into monthly meetings where Godly Brains club members meet to review and share together what they have read from the books. This process has led to the transformation of several lives physically, spiritually and psychologically. Many who have once participated in the Godly Brains Club activities are now graduates and are either in the corporate world, in academics, ministry or are business owners and entrepreneurs.
With this development, the reading needs of many of these people have changed as they now deal with a different set of issues of life, work, family, ministry, and society at large. As a result of this, The Godly Brains Club GOLD is being introduced to cater for those in this category. Again, our core values remain purpose, leadership, and Integrity. Hence the operations of the club and recommended books will be based on those core values.
