The Author

Sam Adeyemi, the author of this book, is the Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, a fast growing, life-changing church committed to “raising role models” based in Lagos. He is also the President of Success Power International, an NGO which among others things specializes in organizing financial, leadership and motivational seminars and is President of Daystar Leadership Academy, a leadership school for business owners and ministers of the Gospel. His teachings have motivated, encouraged and spurred on loads of people to start or advance their businesses. He’s one of the few championing the course for a “New Nigeria” and the reformation of the African continent as a whole. He has authored several other books including the bestselling – Parable of Dollars. Others include Ideas Rule the World, Start with What You Have, Second Revolution, Multiply Your Success: LEAD and his latest additions, Nigeria of My Dream, Generation Z+ and We Are The Government.

Insights from the Book

This book contains 184 pages with the content creatively organized into seven parts, subdivided into 15 chapters. The book is the product of the author’s encounter with the timeless principles of God’s word on the subject of success. In Sam’s words: “SUCCESS IS WHO YOU ARE is an offshoot of timeless principles God taught me that have continued to positively move me on an irreversible path of personal success, manifesting in every area of my life.”  This book offers the reader a blueprint for irreversible outstanding success for the life’s entire journey.

Sam’s approach to the subject of success was very simple for the reader to easily understand, as he carefully captures each foundational block for personal success in the pages. The seven foundational blocks he discussed are: Success is who you are; Success is what you think; Success is what you see; Success is what you know; Success is how you feel; Success is what you say;  and Success is what you do. Obviously, these are inherent components of success, ofwhich if any man applies his life to them, would make success more easily attainable. The author proved these principles true as evident in the opening story he shared about a failed event in his life. His plan of traveling abroad in the early 90s crashed down at the last minute and he became frustrated, thinking that was the end of his life. But upon discovery and application of these principles, he has been transformed into a global figure. The central key to success the reader will obviously discover reading through this book is that “success is first about being before it is about doing” (p.9). With this, the author underscores the scriptural truth that until a man is born of the Spirit of God; he does not carry the required ability to dive into this dimension of success.
