Success Principle 6 – BECOME AN INVERSE PARANOID
“Every negative event contains within it the seed of an equal or greater benefit”
Was there a time in your life when something terrible happened that later became a blessing in disguise? The fact is every negative event contains within it the seed of an equal or greater benefit. Here is what the bible says in line with that thought in Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things, God work for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” If you believe this statement from the Bible, then you are an inverse paranoid personality.
An inverse paranoid person is characterized with one peculiar philosophy: Instead of believing the world was plotting to do him harm, he chose to believe the world was plotting to do him good. Instead of seeing every difficult or challenging event as a negative, he saw it for what it could be – something that was meant to enrich him, empower him, or advance his causes.
Imagine how much easier it would be to succeed in life if you were constantly expecting the world to support you and bring you opportunity. Successful people do just that. In fact, there is growing research that the vibrations of positive expectations that successful people give off actually attract to them the very experiences they believe they are going to get. Suddenly, obstacles and negatives are seen as opportunities to grow and change and succeed.
Learn to look for opportunity in everything. When life hands you a lemon, squeeze it and make lemonade. If you take the approach that “good” is not an accident – that everyone and everything that shows up in your life is there for a reason – and that the universe is moving you toward your ultimate destiny for learning, growth, and achievement, you’ll begin to see every event – no matter how difficult or challenging – as a chance for enrichment and advancement in your life.
Somebody once asked Bishop David Oyedopo, the founder of Living Faith Church whether he has ever had challenges. His response was this: “May be challenges came and I never knew they were challenges.” This is the attitude of every successful person. They see challenges as stepping stone to success.
I encourage you to start each day by repeating the phrase, “I believe the world is plotting to do me good today. I can’t wait to see what it is.” And then look for the opportunities and the miracles. I challenge you therefore to become an inverse paranoid person. Expect something good to happen to you today.
