Rev’d Dr. Gideon Akanbi
Gideon Akanbi, an ordained clergy of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, carries an undying passion to help young people discover their purpose, develop their leadership potential and be driven by biblical integrity, which has become the vision of the Godly Brains Ministry, which he founded in 2008. The ministry is making great impact on young people in several campuses in Nigeria through the Godly Brains Book Club.
Gideon currently serves as head chaplain for Bowen University, Iwo, Nigeria, the first and the largest Baptist University in the continent of Africa. He has also participated in student and chaplaincy conferences in Ghana, Germany, United States of America and the United Kingdom.
Gideon is an alumnus of the University of Ilorin; the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso; Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye; Bowen University, Iwo and Crowther Graduate Theological Seminary, Abeokuta where he holds a B.Sc, M.Div, MA, PGDRS and PhD degrees respectively. He also holds a certificate in expository preaching from Stephen Olford Center for Biblical Preaching in Memphis, Tennessee, USA
As a prolific writer, he has published eight books including, Youth and the Emerging Sexual Crisis. Gideon is married to Olubisi Akanbi and the marriage is blessed with two biological Sons and one adopted Girl.
